Ten Minute Garlic Toast
Homemade doesn’t have to be fancy and lengthy. Sometimes quick and easy recipes are instant winners! For a working mom like myself, that’s a win win situation.
The other night I made a quick pasta dinner and realized I didn’t buy a fancy baguette for garlic bread! I quickly improvised and did the next best thing. I pulled out our household staple, sliced honey wheat bread and proceeded to make a quick ten minute delicious garlic toast. I only made four pieces but orders for seconds poured in right away!
Ingredients
- 2 slices bread of your choice (I used Honey Wheat)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 clove of garlic finely chopped
- Finely chopped basil, oregano, parsley (Optional! I used parsley as a garnish on mine)
Instructions
- Preheat toaster oven to 400°F.
- Cut off crusts of bread and cut each slice into half, making small rectangles
- Mix olive oil and garlic in a small bowl
- Brush one side of bread with above mixture
- Sprinkle herbs on top (I didn’t use herbs)
- Put into toaster oven at 400°F on toast setting for 7 to 8 minues
- Turn broiler on for 1 minute for extra crisp
- Serve with your choice of pasta or eat as is
